Opportunities From: Friends of Homeless Animals

Volunteer: In-person Orientation for New Dog Walkers (Part 2 of 2)

After you've taken the online orientation (Part 1), come out to the shelter for Part 2! Includes presentation on use of slip lead, leash, and harness, tour of key shelter areas, and walking at least one dog. Experienced volunteers will be on hand to help get dogs out of their kennels. After this session, you'll be qualified to walk FOHA's "green sticker" dogs.

Note: Walking dogs at FOHA is a physical activity done in all types of weather. Additionally, volunteers should be prepared to follow all dog handling procedures and shelter rules conveyed through posted signage or verbally by another volunteer or staff member. Please dress appropriately, including sturdy close-toed shoes or boots.
