Volunteer: FOHA Helping Hands: Art & EnrichmentAbout This Activity FOHA Helping Hands is a relaxed, hands-on volunteer opportunity focused on creating items that support our dogs and cats, without direct animal interaction. Volunteers will work on simple projects such as: Making enrichment items for shelter animals Decorating adoption and foster “going-home” bags for dogs and cats Creating basic artwork or decorations for the shelter Preparing seasonal or holiday themed items No crafting experience is needed. Projects are easy to jump into, materials and instructions are provided, and staff will be available to help guide the work. Who Can Participate This is a family friendly volunteer activity and does not involve handling animals. Volunteers 16 and older may attend independently Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times Activities are hands on, so adult assistance is expected for younger participants This is a great option for families, first-time volunteers, and anyone looking for a calm, creative way to support FOHA. Important Notes This activity does not replace animal handling volunteer roles Volunteers interested in working directly with dogs or cats must complete required trainings and meet age requirements What to Bring Just yourself! All supplies will be provided. Volunteer: Adoption Office GreeterAdoption Office Greeter (Ages 16+) Be the first friendly face visitors see when they walk into our Adoption Office! We’re looking for personable, reliable volunteers to help greet guests, assist with sign-ins, and support staff with simple computer tasks and light cleaning when things are quiet. This is a great opportunity for anyone 16+ who wants to earn volunteer hours or get involved with animal rescue. While you may be around dogs as they meet potential adopters, Greeters are not involved in handling animals and should allow staff, trained volunteers, and adopters to focus on the pets during their visit Shifts are available every Friday and Saturday (for now - Sunday shifts to open soon) in two blocks: 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM Sign up for your preferred shift here: Volunteers must be: Age 16 or older Personable and welcoming Comfortable using a computer Willing to learn our adoption processes After your shift, please log your volunteer hours on Galaxy, or email lauraeddy@foha.org so we can record them for you.
