About This Activity
FOHA Helping Hands is a relaxed, hands-on volunteer opportunity focused on creating items that support our dogs and cats, without direct animal interaction.
Volunteers will work on simple projects such as:
Making enrichment items for shelter animals
Decorating adoption and foster “going-home” bags for dogs and cats
Creating basic artwork or decorations for the shelter
Preparing seasonal or holiday themed items
No crafting experience is needed. Projects are easy to jump into, materials and instructions are provided, and staff will be available to help guide the work.
Who Can Participate
This is a family friendly volunteer activity and does not involve handling animals.
Volunteers 16 and older may attend independently
Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
Activities are hands on, so adult assistance is expected for younger participants
This is a great option for families, first-time volunteers, and anyone looking for a calm, creative way to support FOHA.
Important Notes
This activity does not replace animal handling volunteer roles
Volunteers interested in working directly with dogs or cats must complete required trainings and meet age requirements
